I wanted something that was slick, simple, and easy to use, with a fully CNC-controlled, calibrated workflow. The Digi-L crosscut fence is brilliant — incredibly intuitive. From speaking with Gez at R&J Machinery to delivery, commissioning, and the demo, the whole process was seamless.

Manor Wood Designs, led by Andy Gray, is a prolific designer and maker based in the Heart of England on the Herefordshire and Shropshire borders, that creates high-end bespoke furniture, specialising in resin and solid wood tables made from individually selected timber slabs. Every piece is unique, requiring precision, repeatability and confidence in the machinery used throughout the workshop.
The main focus is creating unique handmade furniture working with closely each client to create a one off piece featuring clean lines and local sustainable materials. It truly is furniture that makes any space more special.
As Manor Wood Designs evolved, they set out to create a fully CNC-driven, numerically controlled workshop capable of handling complex processes such as repeat grooving, offsets, and calibrated cuts. Accuracy, repeatability, and intuitive operation were essential, but many machines offered capability at the expense of simplicity, which didn’t suit their bespoke, hands-on way of working.
By working closely with Gez at R&J Machinery, Manor Wood Designs identified the right solution after seeing the machine in person: the Altendorf F45 sliding table saw with the Digit-L crosscut fence. Delivered, installed, and fully commissioned by R&J Machinery’s engineers, the saw was supported with hands-on training, enabling Manor Wood Designs to integrate it immediately into production with confidence and achieve CNC-level precision without unnecessary complexity.
